These terms govern your use of ebcobook.com and any digital book you buy from it. EBCOBook is an independent nonfiction publishing project operated by Eliran Brami, Ibn Gabirol 5/3, Herzliya, Israel, publishing under the name E.B Cohen. By using the site, or by buying a book from it, you agree to these terms.
1. About EBCOBook
EBCOBook (ebcobook.com) publishes nonfiction books about history, science, technology and civilization. E.B Cohen is the publishing identity under which the books are released; it is a pen name of Eliran Brami, who operates the project and is the party responsible for this site and for anything sold through it.
For each title the site shows a description, sample pages, and the places the book can be bought. The books are produced with an AI-assisted publishing workflow, which is described in full on our publishing-process page.
2. Products
EBCOBook offers digital editions of its nonfiction books — ebooks. Print editions are not sold on this site; where a print edition exists, it is sold by third-party retailers under their own terms.
Sample pages shown on a book page are extracts from the full book, published so you can judge the writing before buying. They are for reading only and may not be redistributed or republished.
3. Digital delivery
When you buy a book directly from this site, you receive the digital file electronically: a download link is shown after payment and sent to the email address you give at checkout. Nothing is shipped.
You must give a working email address, because that is where your receipt and download link are sent. If a link expires or a download fails, contact us and we will reissue it.
4. Third-party retailers
EBCOBook titles are also distributed through established ebook retailers and reading platforms, including Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Bookshop.org, Everand, Fable, Smashwords, Tolino and hoopla. Book pages link to those stores so you can buy in the store you prefer.
A purchase made at a retailer is a contract between you and that retailer, under its own terms and privacy policy. Questions about a retailer order — payment, download, delivery or refund — must go to the retailer you bought from. We do not hold that transaction and cannot look it up, change it or refund it.
Retailer links are ordinary links: we are not paid to place them and they carry no affiliate or referral tracking. Prices, availability and formats at a retailer are set by the retailer and can change without notice. Naming a retailer does not imply that the retailer endorses this site.
5. Pricing
The price shown at checkout is the price you pay for a direct purchase. Depending on where you live, tax may be added at checkout by the payment provider and shown before you confirm.
Prices at third-party retailers are set by those retailers and may differ from ours.
6. Payment processing
Direct purchases are handled by a third-party payment provider acting as Merchant of Record. We intend to use Lemon Squeezy for this role. As Merchant of Record, the provider is the seller of record for the transaction, takes the payment, calculates and remits applicable tax, and issues your receipt. Your card statement will show the provider's descriptor rather than ours.
We never see or store your card details; payment happens entirely inside the provider's checkout. Until direct purchasing is switched on, no payment is taken on this site and every purchase happens at a third-party retailer.
7. Copyright and content rights
EBCOBook publishes nonfiction works under the E.B Cohen publishing identity. The books offered through EBCOBook are intended to be original publications. They are not reproductions of third-party books, they are not private-label or resale-rights content, and they are not intended to reproduce or redistribute copyrighted material belonging to others.
The text of the books, the descriptions and sample pages on this site, and the cover designs are the copyright of Eliran Brami (publishing as E.B Cohen) unless stated otherwise. Buying a book buys you a personal reading copy, not a licence to republish it.
We claim no ownership of historical facts, public-domain source material, or third-party quotations, trademarks, product names and brand names that appear in the books. Those remain the property of their respective owners and are referred to for the purpose of describing history. Short quotations from other works are used in the manner ordinary for nonfiction, with attribution.
The books are popular history and science written for a general reader. They are not academic reference works and are not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.
If you believe anything published here infringes your copyright, write to us at the address below with the details and we will respond promptly.
8. Permitted and prohibited use
A book you buy is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial reading. You may read it on any device you own and keep your own backup copies.
You may not redistribute the file, resell it, upload it to file-sharing or lending services, distribute copies to others, reproduce substantial parts of it publicly, remove or alter copyright notices, or present the work as your own.
Short quotations for review, criticism, teaching or scholarship are fine, and nothing here is intended to narrow rights you have under applicable copyright law.
9. Refunds
Refunds for direct purchases are governed by our Refund Policy, which explains when we refund, how to ask, and how the right of withdrawal applies to digital content that is delivered immediately.
Refunds for purchases made at a third-party retailer are governed by that retailer and must be requested from it.
10. Support
For anything about a direct purchase — a download that will not open, a link that has expired, a question about a book — write to [email protected]. Include the order or transaction reference from your receipt so we can find the purchase quickly.
11. Changes
The catalogue, prices, availability, formats and the content of this site may change at any time. A book may be revised after publication to correct errors or improve it.
We may update these terms. The current version is always the one published on this page. Changes apply to purchases made after they are published; they never retroactively change the terms of a book you have already bought.
12. Warranty and liability
This site and the books are provided "as is". We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every description and link is current at all times, or that a file will open in every reader application ever made.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Eliran Brami is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or from any purchase, and total liability arising out of or relating to a direct purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the book in question.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
